Every meal we eat can potentially affect our microbiome (gut bacteria) positively or negatively. 72 hours is an appropriate amount of time to notice the first of many material changes to come in your digestive system and gut health.

Taking a probiotic is a smart choice, but according to new research, to really transform your gut health, you need to get plenty of fiber every day too. Fiber is what helps the “good guys” win...without it, studies show that those probiotics might not be as effective as we all think!
🥦 “I think fiber should only come from whole foods...”
We do too in a perfect world! No doubt there is lots of good stuff in vegetables! But as a nation, we seek convenience and certainly aren’t perfect. If eating only whole foods is your jam--we salute you 1000%! For the rest of us, using a fiber first bread that tastes great and doesn’t feed your bad gut bacteria with a lot of sugar or simple carbohydrates is a great option to add into the rotation!
😖 How to modify if you experience bloating/constipation…
Adding in a lot of fiber at one time can be uncomfortable for some people. If you start experiencing discomfort, you can try backing off on the number of slices per day and resume eating your normal diet (to ensure you get enough calories). Drinking plenty of water will also help.
🛡️ How to modify if the cleanse seems too difficult or you are worried about “enough” calories...
You can always modify the cleanse and add in other foods if you feel you won’t be able to do “toast only” or are worried about eating enough. The great news is that at 5-7 slices plus 1 tbsp of fat per slice, you are falling right around ~1300-1820 calories per day. Adding in nuts, seeds, meats, or cheeses for example to get your calories up won’t affect your results enough not to do it if that’s what you need.
⏩ What's the long game?
We designed our "superfood bread" to be a foundation food. This means that after your cleanse ends, you can, will want to, and should eat our bread each and every day to help you hit your fiber requirements.
💩 What should I expect to experience?
Stable energy, minimal cravings, and most notably, normalization of bowel movements within 72 hours (aka GREAT POOPS).
😁 How do I optimize for the BEST experience?
- Water, water, water and then MORE WATER
- Space out your meals every 4-6 hours (intermittent fasting is okay, synergistic but typically reserved for pros because it's pretty hard out of the gate)
- Light/moderate exercise encouraged (but not required)
- Get 7-9 hours of restful sleep
🙋 🙋♂️ Is fiber really that important? I am pretty healthy already.
Even our very healthy founder, had to come to grips with the fact that he was getting < 15 grams of fiber per day in the pre-toast-cleanse era. He's probably one of the healthiest people you'll meet and he suddenly began consuming half a loaf every day like a part of his daily supplement regimen. If you aren't getting your fiber in ... you've got a problem that you either need to fix or turn a blind eye to. We are making choosing "fixing" pretty darn easy!
